AngelMaid started in Charlotte in 1990 with no staff and exactly one client. She was an elderly lady from our church, and she had health and allergy issues that meant we could not use bleach, or anything toxic, in her home at all.
There were barely any natural cleaning products on the shelves back then. So Shell made her own.
That is not a marketing position we adopted later. It is the reason the company exists, and thousands of clients later it has not changed: we still do not use bleach unless a client specifically asks us to.
Most people never think about what a cleaner sprays in their house. The ones who do tend to have a reason:
One of our clients put it plainly: “Now, everything has changed — we do not want our little guy exposed to any toxic chemicals.”
Eco-friendly products and techniques chosen for the least possible negative impact on the local environment, and cleaning that still has to pass the same standard. Green does not mean gentler on the dirt. Our staff are trained on green cleaning practices and put through a program on detailed cleaning methods before they set foot in a client’s home.
Then say so and we will use it. Some people want a bathroom done a particular way, and it is your house. The default is simply the other way round from most companies.
